New Riff Distilling keeps making me change my tune. Located in Newport, Kentucky, the distillery was founded in 2014 by a liquor retailer and musician who sought a ‘new riff’ on an old tradition. And this new riff is certainly working on me. You see, even though I live right across the river, in Cincinnati, Ohio, I was never a big bourbon guy, or at least wasn’t before. I now buy theirs regularly. I never touched gin, then tried theirs, then bought a bottle on the spot and will even sip it neat (it’s THAT good).
